In the project Carpet//Horizon Danish architect Johnny Svendborg and Japanese architect Junya Ishigami explore the possibilities of green roofs in Copenhagen.
If it were up to Danish architect Johnny Svendborg and Japanese architect Junya Ishigami you could take a walk on the rooftops in Copenhagen in a not too distant future.
In the project Carpet//Horizon they have investigated the architectural potential of converting traditional rooftops of Copenhagen into a natural habitat.
– The idea was to create a new urban landscape on a new kind of scale. We wanted to create one big landscape with the whole city spread out like a carpet, says Junya Ishigami.
– What we have worked with is so to speak, creating a kind of new horizon, adds Johnny Svendborg.
The result of the project can be seen on youtube.
